2009 Remote and Regional Tour

The Black Arm Band is excited to announce our up coming remote and regional tour in partnership with The Fred Hollows Foundation.
In a dynamic and visionary new Indigenous Health Partnership, The Black Arm Band and the Fred Hollows Foundation is embarking on a unique touring opportunity to present the large-scale murundak ('alive' in woirrurung language) and recent work, Hidden Republic to audiences across Australia's most isolated regions.

This year's Queensland Music Festival is being launched with The Black Arm Band's Hidden Republic concert on Thursday Island on Friday and ABC Local Radio. Queensland is taking the concert to you, wherever you may be in the world.
As part of the ABC's coverage, the concert will be streamed on ABC Local Radio from 7pm on Friday, July 17.
All the highlights will be replayed in a special encore on ABC Local Radio Queensland from 7pm on Wednesday, July 22.

The concert will showcase 25 of the nation's most talented Indigenous performers who will perform together with 33 members of the Queensland Youth Orchestra.

murundak is proudly presented in partnership with The Fred Hollow Foundation, touring The Black Arm Band to remote and regional Australia. The Fred Hollows Foundation works towards beating preventable blindness through Vision 2020 alliance and health promotion in tackling trachoma in Indigenous Australia.
murundak has received support from the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body and through the national performing arts touring program, Playing Australia, Arts Victoria and the Melbourne International Arts Festival.
The Australian Government is proud to be associated with this tour through the national performing arts touring program, Playing Australia, which gives Australians across the country the opportunity to see some of our best performing arts.
