THE BLACK ARM BAND presents murundak at WOMAD UK
With a ‘Welcome to Country’ introduction by Pete Postlethwaite.
Following their acclaimed British premiere at the South Bank Centre in June 2008, 28-piece ensemble The Black Arm Band bring murundak (meaning ‘alive’ in the Woiwurrung language) to WOMAD Charlton Park.
The stand-out event at 2008 WOMADelaide, murundak is proof of the company’s mission to perform, promote and celebrate contemporary Australian indigenous music. It is a symbol of resilience and hope in the spirit and action of reconciliation.
