Lou Bennett
Known for her work in the group Tiddas, Australian Aboriginal performer, composer and songwriter Lou Bennett has performed to audiences worldwide. She has performed with numerous Australian and international musicians including Powderfinger, Paul Kelly, Bangarra Dance Theatre, Rickie Lee Jones, Jewel, Sweet Honey in the Rock, Bob Geldof, Arlo Guthrie, Weddings Parties Anything, Mark Seymour and Billy Bragg. Lou has also composed original music and soundscapes and has performed for film, television and theatre productions including Head Hunter (Polyglot Theatre), Yanagai! Yanagai! (Melbourne Workers Theatre), Second To None, Wakaid Girf/Lyndhurst Kid (Vitalstatistix/Kurruru) and Saltbush/Aborigena (TPO Italy/ inSite Arts.
In 2010 Lou was awarded a two year Music Fellowship from the Australia Council to further develop her skills as an emerging Artistic Director, supporting her in her current role as Artistic Associate within The Black Arm Band.
