The Black Arm Band is conceived, realised and produced by Arts House, City of Melbourne.
Arts House is a City of Melbourne contemporary arts initiative that supports the arts and makes Melbourne a more creative and liveable city. Each year Arts House presents a curated program of contemporary art featuring performances, exhibitions, installations, live art and cultural events that are programmed to inspire dynamic community engagement. Central to the Arts House program is a commitment to contemporary arts practices and provocative new ideas
Arts House is supported as a special initiative for the Black Arm Band by the Australia Council, the Australian Government’s Arts Funding and Advisory Body, through its Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts Board, Music Board and Going Global
The Australian Government is proud to be associated with the Black Arm Band regional and remote tour 2009 through the national performing arts touring program, Playing Australia, which gives Australians across the country the opportunity to see some of our best performing arts
